Clevercast Multilingual Webinar Plans
You can download our rate card for multilingual live streaming here.
We have separate plans for:
If you have a T@H plan, you will also be able to do multilingual live streaming with embedded audio in accordance with the the conditions of your T@H plan (number of audio streams, processing hours, data traffic..).
The opposite does not apply: if you have an embedded audio plan, you don’t have access to remote simultaneous interpretation using Clevercast T@H.
You can use all plans to broadcast regular monolingual live streams (using RTMP or SRT).
Note: these prices apply for multilingual live streaming with an embedded video player. If you want to use our webinar solution (with theming, registration, chat, polls …) with multilingual video, you should consult our Multilingual Webinar Plans instead.
Which plan is best for you will be determined by:
Server-side recording is not included by default in our plans. Enabling it for your plan allows you to download a recorded video as a single MP4 file with multiple audio streams. Please note that:
You can add extra live processing hours to your plan. If server-side recording is enabled for your account, the extra live processing hours will be more expensive.
VoD conversion and hosting can be added to your plan per block of 10 hours of video.
For live streams with a large number of viewers, data traffic is usually the determining factor. We allow adding extra TBs of traffic to your plan in advance (= prepaid). This way, you avoid paying overuse afterwards at a higher price.
When receiving a multilingual broadcast, Clevercast needs to do realtime transmuxing and transcoding so the video can be watched in the player. This happens when you are broadcasting to an event with status preview, started or paused.
Please note that processing hours are counted on each streaming server. For example, if you broadcast 1 hour to both the main and backup server (at the same time) you will have used 2 processing hours.
The amount of traffic is the total amount of bytes (GB) delivered to your viewers. To estimate it, you need:
For example, if your live stream is broadcasted at 6 mbps, lasts 2 hours and has 100 viewers on average, you can use the following formula:
300 (viewers) x 5 (mbps) x 2 (hours) x 3600 (to seconds) / 8 (bits) = 1.350.000 MB (or 1350 GB)
Note that the bitrate also depends on the kind of content that you’re streaming. For highly dynamic content you will typically be using a higher bitrate while broadcasting, and Clevercast will also transcode to a relatively high bitrate. For less dynamic content (eg. conference video, talking heads) Clevercast will transcode to a lower bitrate. Here are some example bitrates you can use in the formula to calculate your traffic:
Since we use Amazon CloudFront for global delivery of the streams, we depend on their data traffic prices. These prices differ greatly from region to region.
Since most of our customers are European, we also offer data traffic with European edges only. Note that this doesn’t mean viewers won’t be able to watch the stream, but there quality of experience will be lower.
Below are some examples of how our rate card should be used to calculate the price for your event.
Since you only need 4 languages, you can use our T@H Medium Plan. This includes 15 hours of streaming and 1 TB worldwide data traffic.
For 720p live streaming during 6 hours with 500 concurrent viewers, you will need more than 3 TB data traffic. Since the plan already contains 1TB, you could add 2TB to the plan. If there turns out to be more traffic, you can pay this afterwards at 0,18 €/GB (overuse price).
So the total price for your plan will be 569€.
Since you need 5 languages, you’ll need our T@H Plus Plan. This includes 20 hours of streaming and 2 TB worldwide data traffic.
For 1080p live streaming during 12 hours with 1500 concurrent viewers, you will need about 30 TB of data traffic. Since the plan contains 2TB, you may need 28TB extra data traffic.
So the for the live requirements, you will need:
But consider that an average of 1500 viewers during 12 hours is a lot for an online conference (organizers usually overestimate this). So if you’re not sure, you could opt to add 15TB (for example) to the plan and pay overuse (if necessary) at 0,18 €/GB.
For the VoD requirements during the initial month (= during which the live event takes place) you will need:
Once your monthly license is finished, your account will be converted in a VoD-only account. The cost for monthly hosting is
Note that data traffic is not included for VoD hosting. If you have data traffic left over from your live event, you can use it for VoD. Data traffic for VoD is usually on a fraction of the live data traffic.
For small events, we will use our regular plans (single month license). For events with data traffic estimated to exceed 4 TB, we’ll make a custom price based on the duration of the live stream, estimated number of concurrent viewers, number of languages, optional features and requested level of support.
If requested, we can provide dedicated event support. Pricing depends on the duration of the event, time of day/week and the kind of support requested (active monitoring, on-call availability, pre-event support …).
We use Slack as the communication channel for our premium support. A premium support pack includes a custom Slack channel and a number of user accounts for your streaming engineers to communicate with our support engineers.
We do not provide translators unless explicitly requested. Our regular basic and premium support does NOT include translator management. Unless you have a contract that says otherwise, we assume that you take care of all communication with your translators yourself.
Yes, we can make you a custom plan with an annual amount of processing hours, data traffic… Contact us for more info.
Yes, you can have a number of months of VoD streaming after a live event. In that case, you only pay for VoD hosting (depending on your hours of video) and your data traffic.
For most T@H events with more than 8 languages we will charge a custom price, also including (mandatory) remote support from us. Ask us for a custom quote (see below).
To get a custom quote, please provide us with the following information
– The date and time of your event?
– The number of languages?
– Will you be using T@H?
– The total duration of the live stream?
– Does 1 concurrent live stream suffice, or are there breakout sessions? If so, how many concurrent live streams and for how long?
– The highest resolution of your broadcast (eg 1080p, 720p)? If possible, also the bitrate of your broadcast (eg 4 mbps) or the kind of event (eg conference)?
– The estimated number of concurrent viewers (= average for the entire livestream)?
– The estimated location of your viewers (eg. 40% Europe, 30% US, 10% South-America, 10% Asia, 10% rest of the world)? Particularly, let us know if you expect a big percentage of viewers from India, China and South-East Asia (since CloudFront’s prices are much higher for these zones).
– Do you need server-side recording (= video + all audio streams in a single mp4)?
– Do you want to host the videos as multilingual VoD afterwards? For how many months after the event?
– Do you need premium / event support?
Since we use Amazon CloudFront for global delivery of the streams, we depend on their data traffic prices. These prices differ greatly from region to region, and are particularly expensive in India, China and South-East Asia (Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, & Philippines).
To compensate for this, our plans and prices for global data traffic assume that at least half your audience is watching from Europe, Israel, US, Canada or Mexico.
If this is not the case, and a large part of your audience is located in India, China or South East Asia, you are required to notify us in advance. We will be obliged to charge a higher price for your plan and data traffic.
